Extract text from graphics, documents, or videos
TextSniper doesn’t care about anything non-text. It uses advanced OCR technology to instantly extract text from any area on your screen. Whether it’s an online presentation, a YouTube video, a graphic image, or a PDF document, use TextSniper to turn anything into editable text.
As easy as copy-paste
To extract text, press Cmd+Shift+2 and select any area of the screen. TextSniper will automatically recognize the text within the image and save it to the clipboard. Then, use the familiar Cmd+V shortcut to paste the text anywhere. You can change the keyboard shortcut if you wish.
Save what’s important
TextSniper essentially helps you cut through clutter by quickly capturing only the most important information. Keep your text as paragraphs or use line breaks. TextSniper even offers a text-to-text feature so the app can read it for you.
Available from the menu bar
You can open TextSniper directly from the menu bar to start capturing or customize certain settings (change keyboard shortcuts or choose to preserve line breaks when copying text). The rest of the time, the app remains unobtrusive and won’t interfere with your work.
How to install and activate?
Mount the image and run Open Gatekeeper friendly.
Press Enter to bypass Gatekeeper in the Terminal window.
Drag the application to the Applications folder.
The application is ready for use.
