SlapMac 1.4.6
SlapMac 1.4.6 for Mac
A menu-bar novelty: the MacBook accelerometer turns a tap into a voice-pack clip, and an optional lock-screen mode turns the same sensor into a siren.
Menu bar, then a tap
You leave it in the menu bar with no dock icon. Sensitivity and a cooldown keep a typing session from firing; volume follows how hard you hit. Nine packs (about 150 clips) cover woman, man, metal, goat, and a Combo Hit set that can flash the screen skip the flash if lights bother you. USB Moaner plays on plug or unplug. Lid Effects fold the live desktop as the hinge closes (Drift, Dusk, Mist); that path needs Screen Recording, and the vendor says frames are processed locally and discarded. A lifetime slap count and launch-at-login sit next to the toggles. Custom folders of your own samples are still listed as a future 1.5 item, not this build.
Anti-Theft is a separate switch. You lock the Mac, wait out the arming delay, and motion or a lid move can fire a siren, grab a front-camera still into ~/Pictures/SlapMac/Intruders/ (optional iCloud Drive), and swap the lock-screen wallpaper. Touch ID or the password disarms it. An off-by-default Keep Awake With Lid Closed option needs one admin approval so the Mac can keep listening in a bag and the terms warn that a closed, awake laptop can overheat. The same terms say this is a novelty deterrent, not Find My, AppleCare, or a monitored alarm. Camera and Screen Recording prompts are the price of those extras. Accelerometer data stays local; the checkout email may still get marketing mail.
Ten dollars and a Pro chip
Tonino Catapano sells it for $9.99. The homepage wants macOS 14.6 and an M1 Pro or newer MacBook; the terms also mention Apple Silicon M1 or later. Intel Macs and desktops without a laptop accelerometer are out. If it fails on supported hardware, [email protected] is the stated path. Hitting a laptop can crack glass or void a warranty the software does not absorb that risk.
When Find My is enough
Skip it if you only wanted Find My and a cable lock. Use it if you want the gag on a supported MacBook and will treat Anti-Theft as a loud café trick, not insurance. Version 1.4.6 is that current 1.4-line download: slap packs, USB moan, lid fold, and the lock-screen siren on an M1 Pro MacBook.
