Preset Converter Pro converts Lightroom presets into Capture One styles. Presets are a great starting point for image editing. Many creative photographers offer their Lightroom presets to other photographers, either for purchase or for free. These presets are often the result of years of experience. Compared to Lightroom’s preset offering, Capture One offers significantly fewer styles (in Capture One, multi-tool presets are called “styles”).

With Preset Converter, you no longer need to sift through numerous presets, as the app can easily convert them into individual Capture One styles or style packs in just a few clicks.

Because Lightroom and Capture One differ radically in their RAW conversion processes, there are several technical hurdles to be aware of. Many Lightroom functions cannot be converted 1:1 in Capture One, as sometimes there is no equivalent function in that program. In such cases, the values will be transferred to the other function based on optical criteria. In the developers’ experience, this generally results in similar results. Of course, they will never be 100% identical due to the different image processing algorithms. But since each image has its own exposure and since a preset is usually just a starting point for editing, these differences are usually of little importance.

While it can be annoying that the results in images may differ after conversion, such discrepancies can usually be quickly corrected manually in Capture One, which is certainly easier and faster than manually recreating an entire preset. The biggest source of error is already eliminated when all white balance settings are outside the preset.
