MixWave DW Fearn VT-5 v1.0.4
MixWave DW Fearn VT-5 v1.0.4 macOS
In pursuit of creating the most musical form of equalization, D.W. Fearn originally designed the VT-5 to deliver tone shaping that feels natural, expressive, and deeply satisfying to use. With a tube-driven character that enhances rather than alters, it brings out the best in any source with remarkable ease. It’s an EQ that feels intuitive and rewarding, lets mixes breathe and helps sounds sit with confidence. More than a tool, it embodies a philosophy: musicality is the true measure of great engineering.
In partnership with D.W. Fearn, we’ve recreated the complete sonic fingerprint of this highly regarded equalizer. Through our proprietary component-level modeling techniques, every transformer, tube stage, curve, and musical nuance of the VT-5 is faithfully captured with the flexibility and workflow enhancements of a modern plugin.
Equalization that inspires
Built on ear-tuned curves from the original hardware, it redefines how you think about EQ. The low shelves add purposeful weight, its mid cuts that open space naturally, and the high shelves bring polished air and detail with an effortless sense of musicality.
Euphoric tube character
The VT-5’s modeled tube stages breathe life into any signal, adding depth, presence, and a gentle, euphoric glow the moment it’s engaged. Their characteristics enhance rather than color making tracks feel more open, more dimensional, and unmistakably alive.
Surgical to mastering-grade
From individual tracks to the mixbus, its range of control offers a dependable way to shape tone and bring a sense of direction to the entire production. It’s equally useful for refining the details or being the finishing touch on a full mix.
Built for modern workflows
Exclusive plugin-only features expand the VT-5 for modern workflows, including a wet/dry mix knob for instant parallel compression, pre and post filtering for precise tone shaping, and up to 8x oversampling for pristine sound quality.
