Bear 2.9.4
Bear 2.9.4 for Mac
A Markdown writing app that stores notes as portable plain text and organizes them with in-note hashtags instead of a folder tree.
From a blank note to a tag workspace
Open the Mac app and start typing. No account is required for local use. Markdown markup hides when the caret leaves a line, so headings, lists, tasks, tables, and code stay readable while you write. Put #tags anywhere in the body, including nested paths such as #work/clients, and they show up in the sidebar. Pin the ones you use daily, mark them with TagCons, and connect notes with wiki-style links. Set a tag as a workspace and both the note list and sidebar shrink to that tag and its children, including matching archive and trash items. Search from the in-app field or Spotlight; queries such as @todo or @images filter the library. Fold long sections, clip a page with the web extension, and keep a table of contents plus backlinks in the info panel. A mermaid fence renders diagrams live in the note. There is no project file to open: one library, one editor, tags as the map.
