VisualDiffer compares folders and files side-by-side using color to visually highlight differences. From the interface, you can perform operations on folders and files, such as copying or deleting.

This can be compared to quickly selecting a folder’s directory base from the context menu. Using a file filter, one feature allows you to hide specific files from visualization, such as .Git, .SVN directories, or the ubiquitous .DS_Store files.

Folder comparisons can be performed using various methods, including the fastest “compare dates and sizes only” method, a fine-grained byte comparison method, and a byte-level comparison method. File comparisons are performed using the Unix Diff command; this choice ensures fast, standard, and reliable results. You can save your work sessions and quickly reopen them to compare the directory hierarchy or just two specific files.

How to install and activate?

Mount the image and run Open Gatekeeper friendly.

Press Enter to bypass Gatekeeper in the Terminal window.

Drag the application to the Applications folder.

The application is ready for use.
