Sublime Text supports a wide range of programming languages and features syntax highlighting for C, C++, C#, CSS, D, Dylan, Erlang, HTML, Groovy, Haskell, Java, JavaScript, LaTeX, Lisp, Lua, Markdown, MATLAB, OCaml, Perl, PHP, Python, R, Ruby, SQL, TCL, and XML.

In addition to the languages included by default, users can download plugins to support other languages.

Sublime Text can be equipped with a package manager, which allows the user to find, install, update, and remove packages without restarting the program. The manager keeps installed packages up to date by downloading new versions from repositories. In addition, it provides commands for activating and deactivating installed packages.

The editor features various visual themes, with the option to download additional ones.
Users see all their code on the right side of the screen as a minimap, which can be clicked to navigate.

As the user types code, Sublime Text will offer various options for completing the entry, depending on the language used. The editor also automatically completes user-created variables.

Syntax highlighting and high contrast:
Sublime Text’s dark background is designed to increase text contrast. Key syntax elements are highlighted in different colors, which complement the dark background better than a light one.

Build system support:
Sublime Text allows users to build programs and run them without having to switch to the command line. Users can also customize their build system and enable automatic program building each time they save code.
