Rogue Amoeba has announced Audio Hijack 4, a new solution for recording audio from any audio source. Available for computers running OS X, the app lets you record Skype and FaceTime conversations, digitize analog tapes and vinyl records, and record music from iTunes and Safari.

The new version of Audio Hijack features a completely new block-based interface, a set of recording templates, support for multiple audio sources per session, and dedicated noise-removal filters—Denoise, Declick, Dehum, and more. Audiophiles will appreciate the ability to use the FLAC lossless compression format.

With Audio Hijack 4, you can record audio from any application, DVD players, streaming audio over the internet, record conversations via VoIP services, and import audio from vinyl records, tapes, microphones, and other analog sources. Built-in tools allow you to perform post-processing to improve audio quality.

How to install and activate?

Mount the image and run Open Gatekeeper friendly.

Press Enter to bypass Gatekeeper in the Terminal window.

Drag the application to the Applications folder.

The application is ready for use.
